Soror Ruth Turner Garrett graduated from Freedmen's Hospital School of Nursing, Washington, DC, in 1922. The Ruth Garrett Memorial Fund was established in her name by Alpha Chapter in 1946 recognizing her work in ensuring that ill members received appropriate nursing intervention and care. This fund is used to pay for nursing services for ill sorors. Soror Garrett died in October, 1943.
